Hey y'all! I'm Hannah Babineaux, a freshmen elementary education major! I absolutely adore kids and take pride in my passion to educate and invest in the future generation. My love for kids started at a young age. I have always known this is what I want to do and I am so excited to start my journey of learning how to be the best educator possible. In high school I started teaching young girls at my dance studio. The support from my teachers and peers further ignited my passion for teaching. I love being able to see my impact and influence I have on the children I teach first hand. I believe the elementary years of school are the most important. Building a strong foundation for a child's life is crucial. I have a handful of teachers from elementary school that invested in my early education years and life.
I hope to teach anywhere between first and 6th grade. I had the privilege to be a PAL for 5th graders my junior and senior year of high school. With having so much experience with younger kids especially around first grade, I thought I for sure wanted to teach the babies. Through PALs I found a love for the older kids. I know it is common for teachers to be placed anywhere that their degree allows and I am perfectly happy with that because I love both the little ones and older ones of elementary school.
When it comes to my favorite teachers on social media, I have to admit I have fallen into #teachertok on TikTok. Some of my favorites are @ms.cadime, @lomaeb, and @hellomshudak. All three of these teachers are different but it is evident that they all love their job. The generation of teachers just above us is creating a new way of teaching and developing relationships with students that I can't wait to be a part of. Ms. Cadime on TikTok is a kindergarten teacher. Even at a very young age, kindergartners need someone to invest in their lives and care deeply about them. Ms. Cadime does a very good job at showing how important this is. On the other hand, Ms. Hudak is a middle school teacher. She shows the fun side of the often scary age to teach. Having teachers throughout your education years that take pride in their job is deeply important.
I am so excited for this class and cannot wait to learn and work along side all of you! Have a great week!
